Come home this Christmas to...
CHRISTMAS TOWN, TENNESSEE
Where everyday dreams come true!
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ginny Baird completes her heartwarming holiday series...
Fledgling newspaper reporter Noelle Christmas is assigned to write a story on the Christmas Cookie Shop and the famous Virginia Cookies sold there. Handsome photojournalist Tom Wilson is sent along to help her. Once their investigation begins, Tom is thrown by what appears in his camera’s viewfinder, versus what gets recorded as photos. Noelle is in for a few surprises too, including romantic feelings that emerge each time that Tom is near. When the pair unearths an old, never-published article on the Christmas Cookie Shop, they’re faced with certain truths that could affect their futures. Can Tom, who is falling for pretty Noelle, dare to believe in Christmas magic and open up his heart?
Noelle threw open the bathroom door and it hit the wall with a bang.
Tom stopped walking mid-stride. He’d been carrying two mugs of coffee into the living area from the kitchen and now stood stock-still by the coffee table.
“Hey, Tom.” Noelle’s heartbeat quickened when she realized she’d said that all low and sexy. What? Why? Next, Noelle’s right hand shot up and gripped the doorframe as she leaned against it, in a way that was not exactly professional. Not in Noelle’s profession, anyway. Gee! What’s going on?
Tom viewed her wide-eyed, like he was wondering that, too. “Uh, hey…Noelle.”
“I think that maybe I should go home.” Still with the guttural tones… Nooo!
Did I just wink—wait a minute—at Tom? Ahhhh. What’s happening?
“Noelle?” Tom asked concernedly. “Is there something in your eye?”
“Huh?”
“You keep blinking.”
Noelle pried her hand off the doorframe and tried to pull herself together. “Oh yeah, ha-ha! Sorry! Must be the contacts.”
“I didn’t know you wore them.”
“Yeah, I do!” Noelle pinched the skin above and below her left eye and finally got it to stop “blinking.”
“I think you’re right,” she said with a gasp. “I must be reacting to something!”
“What did you have for breakfast?”
“Breakfast? Er… I kind of skipped it.”
“Well, maybe that could be your problem.”
“No, I don’t think so.”
Noelle marshaled her reserves and attempted to walk past him, but as she did her left hip jutted out sideways. “I’m just going to grab my coat, and…” She took another step. And, then her right hip swished… Noelle wanted to sink into the floor. Was she actually swaying her hips? She didn’t even know she was capable of moving like that! “…G-go!” she finished with a squawk.
